here is a cross hatching of one of the greatest works of Hayao Miyazaki... Tho not one of my fav, but this was done as a decoration on my friend's b-day letter envelope, and Totoro was her fav.
This turned out rather well, I'm quite pleased... though this did not have any New year or Christmas content, consider this as the end of the year submission and thus your end of the year present.
I liked everything except the younger sister... can't quite remember her name at the moment, but this was not really my fault, cuz the envelope was too small, so the picture obviously had to fit, so many details were left out. *sigh*
and you may see the blue pencil crayon marks are the back. yeah... ummm... ignore that plz ^_^

Totoro! I remember seeing that movie! Hayao Miyazaki is my favorite director!
Um. . .anyways. . .I really like the cross hatching you did. It looks really nice. ^_^
Ooh, Totoro... I haven't watched that movie in years. XD
I love the scene that this pic comes from... you did a really nice job with the cross-hatching. ^_^

I can't believe I still haven't seen that movie, being the Hayao Miyazaki fan that I am... I'm waiting for the new DVD release. I forgot when that was supposed to be.. Eh...
Anyway, I like this drawing. You did a really nice job of creating form through crosshatching... Very nice.
A brand new monthly article which showcases some of deviantART's finest equine artists, as well as recognizing the lesser-known but equally talented ones. Interviews, helpful tutorials and features can all be found here too! I hope you enjoy it.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
The idea of this contest is to set you up completely blind with a mythical being - from any world culture - and turn you loose to come up with a deviation based around it!
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
